Avon, Indiana's Todd Kimmel put his car in the top 5 for the first time in 2008.  Kimmel who won the heat race over Kenny Carmichael Jr and Stephanie Tuttle started second in the feature event for the night.

Once the green flag fell Kimmel was able to lead into one before bouncing off the tall cushion and bicycling hard.  Kimmel would run second behind Dickie Gaines till lap 15 when there was a red flag for Adam Byrkett.  Once racing resumed Kimmel was on a charge to the lead.  Passing gains and leading veteran drivers Dickie Gaines, Casey Shuman, Billy Puterbaugh, and Shane Hollingsworth.  As the race went on Kimmel would fade with growing air pressures to 4 behind Dickie Gaines, defending champion Billy Puterbaugh and current points leader Shane Hollingsworth.

"It was a  great night for us.  To finally get a top 5 and even lead a few laps I feel like we accomplished something.  I can't say enough about Tom Miller.  He has had me on a rail all season.  I can't wait to get him and my sponsors a win.  We were close tonight, but close just isn't a win."
